Job Title: Teaching Assistant- Primary School- Ealing
Axcis are looking for an experienced primary teaching assistant to work in a special needs school based in Ealing, West London to join their support staff team. The school require a teaching assistant for a long term, full time role to work within their primary department. You will be expected to provide 1:1 support for a key stage 1 pupil with a physical disability. This will include manual handling and hoisting in and out of a wheelchair on a daily basis. You may also be required to provide general in-class support and to lead small group interventions with other special needs students under the direction of the learning support coordinator. Previous experience of working with children with physical disabilities is essential and all applicants must be willing to assist with personal care. Teaching assistants with knowledge of manual handling, feeding and medical administration training are highly desirable, although applicants without this training will also be considered. Many of the children in this provision are non verbal and therefore the ability to use communication aids such as Makaton or PECS) would be advantageous but is not essential for the role.
