Job Title: Teaching Assistant- Hackney- Primary
Axcis Education is currently looking for a reliable teacher assistant with SEND experience to work in a mainstream school that is located in the Hackney area (East London). The successful candidate will be working 1:1 with a 6 year old boy who is on the Autism spectrum. This role will start ASAP and be full time 8:30 - 16:00 Monday to Friday term time only. This is a position that will be available for the 2019/2020 academic year. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher assistant who wants to excel in their career and learn different types and methods of teaching.
This primary mainstream school has 6 classes of 28 pupils. Each class in the school has a lead teacher as well as supporting staff. Your day to day role will include providing 1:1 support to the 6 year old boy throughout the school day with all activities. The school has two sensory rooms within the building which you will be using. The school is in an excellent location for public transport due to it being next to a main underground station and also has a staff car park onsite.
The student you will be supporting has a hearing impairment therefore a teacher assistant that has experience working with Makaton or BSL would be ideal. You will be provided with ongoing training throughout your role.
