Job Title: Teaching assistant, ADHD
Axcis are working alongside an All-through mixed school in Newham that is looking to recruit a special needs Teaching assistant to join their team in the new academic year. The role will be starting immediately and will be full-time, 5 days per week 8 am- 4.30 pm.
You will be working across the year groups in both the upper year groups of the Primary site and the entire Secondary site, the majority of students you will be supporting are on the autistic spectrum however experience supporting ADHD, dyslexia, and downs syndrome will be very useful for some of the additional needs within the school.
You will be supporting students both in and out of class and will report directly to the inclusion co-coordinator. Although an experienced special needs teaching assistant would be ideal for this role as training is offered at the start of term for new staff please do apply if you think you have the necessary skill sets to work in a special needs school setting.
The school was founded in 2017, they have set ambitious academic standards backed up by exciting enrichment opportunities, whilst nurturing and caring for the wellbeing of every child. At capacity, the two sites will accommodate over 1500 pupils including a sixth form who will access a dedicated study center. The academy currently has over 700 pupils on roll across Reception, Year 1, Year 2, and Years 7-10 in the Secondary phase. The academy will grow year on year to reach full capacity in 2024.
To be suitable for this role you must:
• Have an enhanced child and adult DBS on the update service
• Be available to start in September 2021 on a full-time basis
