Job Title: Teaching assistant, £90 per day
A School in Dorking is seeking to recruit a full-time learning support assistant to start immediately on a full-time basis. You will be working in a special school for boys aged 9 to 16 years who have social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH).
Some students also have moderate learning and attachment difficulties. This means that students may struggle to form strong, healthy, and sustainable relationships with others and can have challenging behavior, therefore the suitable person for this role would ideally have experience working with individuals with behavioral challenges. All students have an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP).
You will be supporting students in and out of the classroom. Class sizes are small with no more than six students in each teaching group. Lessons are carefully planned and take into account the needs, interests, and abilities of all students so that learning is more purposeful and engaging. Additional support in the classroom will be provided by yourself and other classroom assistants who work with students to build their confidence and self-esteem whilst also supporting their academic, social, and developmental needs.
If you have an enhanced child and adult DBS on the update service, relevant experience, and are able to attend a paid week’s trial ASAP please apply for this role.
