Job Title: Special needs teaching assistant
Special needs teaching assistant - Bath, immediate start
Axcis Education are looking for a teaching assistant who has experience in working with special needs children in a school environment to work full time at a primary schools special needs unit from September. Many of these children will be either on the spectrum or have complex needs but be young of age. The ideal candidate will need to be proactive not afraid to work from the floor if needs be and be friendly and approachable to young children. This is school is one of the larger primary schools in Bath and located in the southern region of the city.
If you have worked with autism before and have previous work experience with primary aged children but looking for a change of scenery or a challenge then this could be the ticket you are looking for. For more information please get in touch but to recap we are looking for;
- School and special needs experience especially with autism
- Friendly demeanor that will help young children bond to and keep them engaged with their learning
- Team spirit but also happy to work on their own as well
- Happy to help the school in any way they can and facilitate any requests made of them
- Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one
- Hold a formal qualification as a teaching assistant but this is not essential, experience is what counts here
