Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant - SEND School - Islington - Autism
A large special educational needs school based in Islington which cater for students aged between 6 to 19 years old with high functioning autistic spectrum disorders, including Asperger’s Syndrome and associated difficulties are looking for enthusiastic and resilient special needs teaching assistant to join them. The successful special needs teaching assistant will be required to provide general classroom support and may also be asked to work on a one to one basis or in small groups. You will need to be committed to providing support to learners with a range of needs, be flexible in your approach and able to work as part of a team. You will need excellent communication skills, along with patience and enthusiasm. Previous experience with SEND is a requirement. Understanding and experience of using Makaton, PECs and sensory approaches are advantageous but not essential. This is a full time, long term role to start ASAP and will continue on until the end of the academic year.
