Job Title: Secondary Teaching Assistant
Axcis Education is recruiting on behalf of a mainstream secondary school based in East Cheshire for a TA to work with autistic children as general SEN support. This would be a full time position working on a long term basis, working between 8:30 and 15:30, Monday to Friday. This role would involve working alongside other support workers to assist multiple autistic children across the spectrum with a range of ages in KS3 and KS4. The role is based at a large mainstream secondary school in a leafy area of East Cheshire close to South Manchester. The school is highly rated by OFSTED having been graded ‘good’ on its most recent inspection, with special note given to the support system in place for SEND pupils. The successful candidate would provide SEN support either in a general classroom setting or in smaller groups with autistic children focusing more specifically on their needs. There is a staff car park onsite. The nearest train station is a 10 minute walk away and can have you in central Manchester in 30 minutes. To be considered for this role, applicants must have prior experience working with autistic children, ideally in a school setting. Beyond this, no specific qualifications are required. If you are a caring, friendly and patient individual then this could be just the kind of role you're looking for.
