Job Title: Primary Teaching Assistant
Axcis Education is recruiting on behalf of a mainstream primary school in the Cheadle area for an experienced teaching assistant to provide general in-class support on a full time basis. This would be a full time role working Monday – Friday from 8:30 – 15:30. The successful candidate would be support the class teachers on a rotational basis, assisting where needed each day, working with children aged between 4 and 11. Some children do have SEND requirements so understanding or prior experience with ADHD, dyslexia or autism would be desirable but is not essential. The school is a well regarded mainstream primary school with 125-150 pupils aged between 4 and 11. Class sizes are often between 20 and 25 students with 1 or 2 teaching assistants supporting the class teacher. The school has excellent facilities including a sensory room to assist those children with SEND requirements. There are no specific qualifications required for this role but the successful candidate must have prior experience working with primary aged children ideally in a school setting. Prior experience with SEND requirements such as those mentioned above will be look upon favourably.
