Job Title: Primary Autism Teaching Assistant
Axcis Education has an exciting opportunity for a teaching assistant to work with primary aged autistic children in a mainstream primary school in Warrington. This would be a full time, long term ongoing role, working between 8:30 and 15:30 Monday to Friday. The role involves working 1-1 or in a group setting with KS1 and KS2 autistic children across the spectrum.
The school is a highly regarded mainstream primary school, well thought of within the local community. The school itself has recently been rated ‘good’ by OFSTED with particular praise given to the provisions for the SEND pupils and the support of the senior leadership team. The school in the WA1 area of Warrington with a car park on site. The nearest train station is a 20 minute walk away while there are good bus links close to the school.
To be considered for this role, candidates must have prior experience working with autistic children, ideally in a primary school setting, though the school is willing to consider experience from other areas. Ideally you will have experience working with children in either a primary or secondary school in the past few years. Beyond this no specific qualifications are required.
