Job Title: ASC Teaching Assistant
Axcis are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking Special Educational Needs teaching assistant to support children in the Primary department of an ‘Outstanding’ Special School in Exeter. The children have a range of additional needs from Autism, ADHD, to MLD. The classrooms are split by ability rather than ages. Each classroom has around 7 pupils with a class teacher and a range of teaching assistants to ensure every child is supported. The role will start in December for the new term. This is a temporary position with the opportunity of turning permanent.
The school itself is a large, resourceful special school. The school believe that every child has a voice and should not be excluded from their education. They have a range of therapy sessions including animal therapy, speech and language therapy and emotional and physical support. The school contain many sensory rooms to provide development for the children in inventive lessons.
For this role you need:
• To have experience working with children with additional needs.
• To be available from Monday to Friday
• To work from 8:45 – 3:30
• To be considerate and respectful
• To be patient, resilient and caring
• To be punctual and a good time keeper
• To be able to mange challenging behaviour
The daily pay is £75 to £80.
