Axcis are working with a large SEN MAT to recruit an HLTA for their special school in Newton Abbot. The school is purpose-built in a beautiful location with excellent resources. Initially starting with 54 pupils the number will increase to around 200 over the next few years. It's an all-through special school and the pupils at this school all have ASD and SEMH. This particular role is for an experienced SEN HLTA to support in the delivery of lessons to ensure progression for all pupils. You will supervise specialist Teaching Assistants to deliver all aspects of leaning and emotional development. Part of your duties will include literacy and numeracy mentoring and creating practical sessions such as art, play and baking, In addition, you will implement the school behaviour policy and systems to assist in delivering outstanding education. This is a full-time role with a great development opportunity. It will start on a full-time, temporary basis and could lead to a permanent position within 3 months. Hours are 8.30 to 3.30 Monday to Friday. The pay is £80 per day. The ideal candidate will possess - " Strong team working skills " The ability to organise, plan and manage an ever changing workload " Strong safeguarding knowledge " The ability to take initiative " Experience of handing complex data " A previous background in building professional and honest relationships with all stakeholders " Good problem solving skills " Excellent experience of working with ASD and SEMH pupils " A strong SEN background " Good levels of literacy and numeracy.
