Job Title: 1:1 TA, Year 5 Autism, Part-Time
I am looking for a TA to do some 1:1 work with a Year 5 pupil with Autism. This role is based at a primary school in Yate. The position is part-time, being needed only on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. You will be assisting the pupil with their academic studies, providing 1:1 support through their classes and during breaks and lunchtime. The pupil has high-functioning Autism and sometime struggles to digest information at the pace of teaching. You will be needed from the return to school in January for a minimum of 4 weeks, potentially being extended to 8.
The primary school is oversubscribed and is Good with OFSTED. It is a slightly more remote area making driving a bonus - you can reach it by public transport, but there is some walking involved from the nearest bus stop. You will be offered free lunches at the school for free and there may be the opportunity to take on another role at the school should you enjoy this one and be asked to stay.
To do this role, you must have some 1:1 experience with a SEN child. Any experience with social, behavioural or learning needs will be relevant, and working with primary aged pupils before will be a huge plus. Please get in contact ASAP if you are interested!
