Axcis are pleased to be working with a mainstream school in Weston who are looking to recruit an experienced teaching assistant to work 1-1 with a Y5 child with autism for six weeks, part time mornings only 8:30-12:30pm Monday-Friday. Situated in Weston the school has been described as having a positive and inclusive working ethos and has excellent links to public transport. You will be a role model, mentor and daily support to the child you will be working with and will need to be able to establish a good working relationship with them. Resilience is an essential trait as the child has challenging behaviour and experience working with children with autism is a must. You must have a calm nature and ability to de-escalate situations. The successful candidate will be creative, flexible and have a natural talent for working with students who exhibit challenging behaviour.
