Job Title: Basic Skills Teacher for Severe Learning difficulties – Secondary
Axcis Education are currently looking for a Basic Skills teacher to work in a secondary school in Oldham that supports children with Severe Learning difficulties. This is a full time, fixed term role that will run until the end of the academic year 2022. You will be teaching a mixed age secondary class with aged that range from 11-16 focusing on teaching them Numeracy and Literacy at a basic level. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a group of fantastic young children and make a profound difference in there lives. With this being a Severe Learning difficulties school, the classes within the school have a high adult to child ratio with highly trained teaching assistant available to provide support. The school has spent a number of years developing outstanding facilities that include a sensory room and a new computer suite. There is a small car park in front of the school but plenty of parking available nearby and is also just a short walk from the nearest train For this role you will have ideally had experience in working within a special educational needs provision or working in a mainstream secondary school that has a high level of children with SEND. The school are looking for secondary teachers with QTS ideally specialising in English or Maths however other specialities would be considered should you have experience of teaching in a specialist school.
