Job Title: Team Teach TA
Axcis are currently looking for a teaching assistant who is experienced at working with children with ASD and SLD in a secondary SEND setting in Tameside. This will be a full time position and they are looking for somebody to start ASAP and will continue initially until Christmas where they will make the decision to extend until the end of the academic year or not. You will be working with a small team of outstanding professionals supporting a small group of highly enthusiastic and happy young individuals with not only their learning but also their social and emotional needs. This is a rare opportunity to join a small SEND school with an infectious positive vibe.
This Alternative provision, although small is increasing in size year by year. They support a number of different SEND that include PMLD, SLD, MLD, ASD, Down syndrome and Hearing impairment. They have a large range of facilities including a water therapy pool and a number of sensory rooms and safe spaces. The Provisions is set between Primary and secondary mainstream schools which act as feeder schools for the provision. Due to this parking is limited however transport links to Ashton town center and Manchester in the opposite direction.
For this role you will need to have completed team teach training and have some experience of working within SEND. You will also have some experience of working with young people that can display physical behavior
