Job Title: Teaching Assistant - SEMH & Challenging Behaviour
Axcis Education is looking to recruit a teaching assistant for a small SEMH school in the Bolton area. This role is full-time and longer-term. The ideal teaching assistant will have experience of working with challenging behaviour and students who are disengaged. A strong understanding of SEMH and Complex Needs is essential. The teaching assistant must have a strength in de-escalation and distraction techniques. An ability to forge strong relationships with students and an ability to break down learning barriers is essential. A Teach Teach qualification is desired but not essential. The specialist secondary school is smaller than average and the pupils in school either have additional learning needs such as: MLD, ASC, ADHD, SEMH and challenging behavioural needs. Strong senior leaders ensure that each child is seen as an individual and that they feel safe and have a tailored working environment to make personal and academic progress. The role is full time and school hours are 8.30am – 3.45pm Monday – Friday. The school is based in Bolton and is accessible by car or by public transport. The candidate suited to this role will have excellent communication skills, have experience working with children with SEND and / or challenging behaviours. The candidate must be available full time and be seeking a long term role. The role will start in November, but for the right candidate, it could start sooner for a transition period.
