Part Time: 30.5 hours per week, 36 weeks per year Salary: £17,997 per annum (£11,583 pro rata) Plus Benefits Defined Benefit Pension, Employee Assistance Programme, Free Car Parking, Subsidised Refectory and onsite Gym We are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to support teachers in classroom settings in a college. Key responsibilities: • Support the teaching of specific curriculum areas / specialisms as required and agreed with the Learning Area Lead / Manager. • Attend to the educational, personal and social needs of students and any other requirements depending on the student’s special needs and wherever possible, make these part of the learning experience • Assist in the Teaching and Learning by acting as a class cover for tutors in the event of their absence. • In conjunction with teachers, to maintain a system of recording and tracking students’ attendance and progress • Promote and support the inclusion of all students in the learning activities in which they are involved. Ideally you will have a good level of education along with good written and verbal skills, and possess professional qualifications at Level 3. Although not essential a qualification in business or ICT would be an advantage. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organisational skills are another pre – requisite, as is the ability to be an effective team member.
