Job Title: Supply Teaching Assistant
Axcis Education are working with a special school in the PL6 area of Plymouth who are seeking teaching assistants to work on a flexible supply basis. Working days and hours will be between Monday and Friday, 8.30am - 3pm, term time only.
This special school is for primary aged pupils who struggled to fit in in their mainstream schools. The children all have different needs, from ADHD, attachment difficulties, speech and language delay to moderate learning difficulties or autism. The school focuses on personal wellbeing and growth, which allows the pupils to be excited about attending school and in turn they engage in their lessons. Children have individual intervention programmes daily, along with lessons in English, Maths and Phonics. The rest of the curriculum is based on the philosophy that a child with good mental health and wellbeing is better able to learn the numeracy and literacy skills they will need in life. The school also have a focus on outdoor learning.
Working on a flexible supply basis allows you to pick and choose which days you work - you can differ each week. It's a perfect role to fit around family or student life, or if you are looking to pick up some extra income.
