Job Title: Student Support Assistant
Axcis Education is currently recruiting for a Student Support work to support post 16 students within the wider community in an outreach capacity.
Working for a large SEN college that specialises in providing individualised learning plans for students with learning needs through SEMH, MLD, ASD and Down syndrome, you will be working on a 1-1 basis with the student in their home or out on the community to support with lessons and outreach activities. A big part of the role is to help develop their life skills including cooking, shopping and travelling.
Each day you will report into the college at 9am, who will provide you with a risk assessment and lesson plan. You will have some input into planning the day’s activities. You’ll then meet the student and focus on supporting them to achieve their education objections through tutoring basis English and maths or their chosen subject. Once this is done you will accompany the student to some activities which ranges from clip and climb to helping with shopping.
Hours are 9am to 4pm, Monday to Friday and the pay is £80.
This is a long term role that will start as soon as you are cleared for work and last for the academic year.
