Job Title: Special needs teaching assistant
Special needs teaching assistant; Trowbridge Axcis are seeking a patient and talented special needs teaching assistant to work full time or part time in a special needs school in Trowbridge. We have so much work there at the moment they we simply do not have the current capacity to facilitate their requirements. So whether you have experience in special needs from a school environment or perhaps you have been working in care, there are opportunities to pick up work at this school or in their wider federation. The school are ideally looking for someone who has experience in PMLD, or complex needs and autism, and is perhaps confident in working with hoists and administering personal care or at least willing to learn. Although not all students require this level of support. This is a unique opportunity to work in a school that is part of a larger group of special needs schools and really get stuck in and support children that really do need that extra special care and attention. To apply we are looking for; - Experience either working in a school or care environment and has also had a extensive experience in helping those with special needs such as PMLD and complex needs. - Able to use hoists and other equipment and be confident in providing physical care to children although this is not essential. - Be patient and caring and really have a passion for helping the most vulnerable of the younger generation. - Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service but this can be provided for you should you not currently hold one.
