Job Title: SEND TA
A special school in Birmingham is looking for a teaching assistant to work 1:1 with a year 3 students with challenging behaviours. This is a full time ongoing role until Christmas and after if it is a good fit for both sides. This is a very supportive school that are dedicated to providing support for their pupils as well as their staff.
The special school has sensory rooms, a library, swimming pool and outdoor fitness centre. The students have access to all these sites and the 1:1 sessions can take full advantage of all these wonderful facilities. The year 3 class has 20 students with a main class teacher and two other teaching assistants. You will be responsible for implementing the positive behaviour management strategies set forth by the SENDCO.
The ideal candidate will have experience within schools and challenging behaviours. Qualifications, whilst desired are not essential as experience is more beneficial. A DBS on the update service or a willingness to get one prior to starting the role is vital.
