Job Title: SEN Learning Support Assistant
Axcis have an amazing PMLD Education Support position available for the right candidate at a lovely special school in Exeter run by the Sentient Trust. The pupils all have PMLD and complex needs including Non verbal, life Limiting, wheelchair users and Prada Willi Syndrome. The class is mixed from 4-10 years of age. You will work with the pupils along with the class teacher and a number of teaching assistant to ensure all the children are assisted with physical, emotional, medical and educational support. The organisation comprises of 11 special schools in Devon with the aim to ensure full and fair access to specialist resources according to the children’s identified needs, as well as having equality and a voice in their education. It is a big school with amazing resources such as therapy dogs, hydro pool, sensory rooms and grounds for the children to play on. In order to be accepted for this role the ideal candidate must have experience working with children with PMLD needs, experience using PEC cards, Makaton or play therapy is desirable but not essential. You must be reliable and committed to work Monday to Friday on a full time basis from 8:45 to 3:30. Axcis pay a daily rate of £75 to £80.
