Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant
Axcis Education are working with a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Plymouth who require a Team Teach trained teaching assistant for their Key Stage Four (KS4) pupils. This role is full time, Monday - Friday, 8.45 - 3, term time only.
This school is a provision for pupils who have been designated as disengaged. There are approximately 50 pupils who have been permanently excluded or are on an intervention programme. The school caters for Key Stage One to Key Stage Four but this position is to support the KS4 group. The school’s curriculum is tailored to meet the needs of their pupils and staff work hard to ensure all children’s needs are met and they are given the opportunity to succeed. KS4 pupils will follow a personalised learning programme which is linked to both academic qualifications and/or a vocational route, which can include work experience. The pathway followed by the pupil will be dependent on their educational needs and may include elements of on-line learning. This school is accessible by public transport.
If you wish to apply for this full time support role, you should be an experienced teaching assistant with an in date Team Teach qualification. You should also be confident in supporting children with challenging behaviour and SEMH.
