Job Title: Primary Special Needs Teacher
Axcis Education are working with a special school in Plymouth who are seeking a Key Stage One special needs teacher to work within a profound and multiple learning disabilities setting (PMLD). This role is full time. The pupils with PMLD are a group of individuals with learning disabilities in the profound range, and have a number of healthcare needs. Their disabilities can present challenges and there are a few children within the class who are wheelchair users. Many have sensory impairments with either vision or hearing affected. Their healthcare needs are complex and may be life threatening. The school caters for pupils aged 4 – 19. Although this role is a KS1 teaching position, there are no more than 10 pupils within the age range and you will be well supported by experienced teaching assistants, the school’s SENDCo, as well as the senior leadership team. You should be confident in assisting with the safe physical and medical needs of pupils, including – personal care, specialist care and mobility needs.
