Job Title: Primary School Teaching Assistant
Axcis Education are working with a mainstream primary school in the Saltash area of Cornwall who require a teaching assistant on a full time basis. This role will require you to provide general in-class support but you will also be expected to support some pupils with additional needs on a 1-1 basis occasionally. Working hours will be 8.45 – 3.15, Monday – Friday, term time only. This primary school is two form entry, with approximately 420 children on roll. The role of a teaching assistant is to support the class teacher and also to support children’s learning. This position is to work within Key Stage One – supporting pupils as general classroom support, in small groups and also on a 1-1 basis. Public transport available to the school is limited and so you should have access to a vehicle for this role. If you wish to apply for this full time teaching assistant role, you should have experience of working within a primary school and also be confident teaching phonics – preferably the Read Write Inc scheme. Experience of working with children with additional needs, such as autism or ADHD, would be an advantage.
