Are you an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant with experience of working with young people in the PMLD sector? Axcis want to hear from you!
Axcis have a vacancy for a SEND Teaching Assistant at a well respected specialist school in Teignbridge working with children with PMLD aged 5 to 11.
This fantastic specialist school uses a range of innovative teaching methods to help their students make the most of their educational experience. It’s large and well resourced school with a fantastic atmosphere upon entering the grounds. Situated 30 minutes form Exeter and Torbay, you will have access to free parking and with excellent links to public transport, the school is easily accessible.
The role is five days a week, full time and will go on till the end of the academic year in 2022 The position is general in-class support - you may be expected to work one to one, in small groups or providing general in-class support as required. Experience of working with children and young people with PMLD is essential. Many of the pupils are non verbal and the ability to use Makaton and various other non-verbal communication would be highly advantageous.
Hours are 8.50am to 3.20pm, Monday to Friday. The pay is £80 per day.
