Job Title: Part time special needs teaching assistant
Part time special needs teaching assistant - Trowbridge
Axcis is on the search for a great teaching assistant with extensive experience in supporting special needs for a part time role in a lovely SEND school in Trowbridge. This will be a long term post but currently does not have a definite start date. The school caters to a wide range of children with special needs, from autism and complex needs, to those with more physical disabilities such as cerebral palsy. They take in children from as young as 5 up to the ages of 18.
We are looking for someone with either a background in schools or perhaps someone who has worked in care but looking to transition to education but has lots of experience in special needs. Hours are 8:30 - 3:30 and the school are looking for someone 2 or 3 days a week. We are looking for someone who is compassionate, great at fostering relationships with children, can communicate with children who perhaps are non verbal and can use tools such as makaton, although this is not essential.
This is a great opportunity to get involved with a fab special needs school that has connections with other schools in the county and can provide great prospects for the right person.
