Job Title: LSA - Full Time - Forest of Dean
Axcis Education are pleased to be working in partnership with a lovely large special needs school in the Forest Of Dean who are looking to recruit a teaching assistant who will be working with young children with Autism, Learning Difficulties, PMLD, global delay and ADHD in addition to those who display challenging behaviour.
You will be working in small groups providing general in class support and some 1:1 support also and you will need to be able to establish a good working relationship with the pupils very quickly and be committed to supporting and nurturing the pupils you will be working with.
You will be supporting pupils who are in key stages 1 and 2 and the role is full time (8.30am to 3.30pm), starting ASAP and will run till end of the winter term initially with the potential for it to be for the full academic year for the right candidate. This role pays a daily rate of £80 per day.
Your role will be to help with integrating the pupils into a lesson based environment and support the pupils with their daily routines. This is a safe and encouraging environment where the pupils are nurtured and supported to reach their full potential though a range of highly engaging lessons and activities.
The right candidate will be an inventive and positive TA who has a proactive attitude and will be calm and resilient in difficult situations. You will be a positive role model and will have a chance to make a real difference to a child's life.
The special school is extremely welcoming, has a fantastic support structure and offers excellent resources for all staff that work there. It is set in lovely grounds and the school would be interested in taking the successful candidate on to a permanent contract. Free parking is also available.
The successful teaching Assistant should:
" Be resilient and able to remain calm in challenging situations
" Have a caring and compassion approach
" Have an in-depth knowledge of safeguarding guidelines
" Understand the delicate nature of working with pupils with behavioural difficulties.
" Have the drive to consistently engage pupils with creative activities
" Be able to provide evidence of successful experiences from working with reception or early year pupils with additional learning needs.
