Job Title: Learning support assistant for down syndrome
Learning support assistant for down syndrome pupil - Bristol - asap start
Axcis Education are looking for an experienced learning support assistant to support a primary student who has down syndrome. The student is in year 4 but working at reception level. This will be a 1:1 post mainly occurring outside of the classroom. The student does have some challenging behaviours but nothing extreme. This is a full time and long term post and the school are looking for someone to start as soon as possible.
The school is based in south Bristol and is part of a wider academy trust. The school would like someone who has had experience working with down syndrome and is very approachable to young children. They need someone who has lots of empathy but can also be firm with expectations and behaviours.
If you have previous experience in a primary school or have extensive SEND experience via other means do get in touch. Due to the urgency that the school need someone, we are looking for someone who has a enchanced DBS on the update service, but we still welcome those with one to apply.
