Axcis Education are working with a mainstream primary school who are seeking an experienced teaching assistant to work within their Early Years Foundation Stage. This position is full time - working hours will be Monday - Friday, 8.30 - 3, term time only. The role will require you to support children aged between 4 and 5 years in both a general and 1-1 capacity. Some pupils require additional support to help them continue to settle into school routine and there are also pupils who require other support. In addition to this, you will be working as a general classroom assistant and also working with small groups of pupils. The successful applicant will have previously worked with young children - either within a school or nusery setting. You should also have supported individuals with additional needs such as challenging behaviour, autism or SEMH. Knowledge of phonics, particularly the Read Write Inc scheme would be useful but is not essential.
