Axcis have a vacancy for a teaching assistant at a well respected specialist school in Bridgwater working with primary aged children with PMLD, ages 5-11.
Rated 'Outstanding' by Ofsted, this fantastic specialist school uses a range of innovative teaching methods to help their students make the most of their educational experience. The school is small but well resourced and has a fantastic atmosphere upon entering the grounds. Situated in central Swindon and with excellent links to public transport the school is easily accessible.
The role starts in January and is five days a week, full time and will go on till the end of the academic year. The position is general in-class support - you may be expected to work one to one, in small groups or providing general in-class support as required. Experience of working with children with PMLD is essential and you will be expected to do personal care as well as manual handling. Many of the children are non verbal and the ability to use Makaton would be highly advantageous.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced SEND teaching assistant who has worked with KS1 AND KS2 children with PMLD in a special needs environment.
